Travel meetings for the beneficiaries of the Foundation of St. John of Jerusalem

SOIT members support the Foundation St. John of Jerusalem in the Great Art for Small People, or Traveling through Art programme. The aim of this project is to organise for the children and adolescents, the foundation’s beneficiaries, a year-round series of meetings inviting openness to the world, travel, and artistic activities.

The essence of the program are educational and artistic activities involving the exploration of certain cultural and geographical circles based on traditional art and culture of these places, and expressing it through individual artistic form. Children and adolescents participating in the programme take part in a cultural trip to faraway places: Africa, Australia, North America, South America, Asia and some parts of Europe.

The first meeting was held on 6 April. Katarzyna Szełemej-Pobożniak from HAXEL Events & Incentive agency told the participants stories about everyday life and culture of the Andean Indians in Ecuador. The children had the opportunity to see unique photos from an Indian village and listen to amazing stories based on the traveller’s own experiences.
